This beautiful TUDOR Prince Date Chronograph Ref. 79260 dates to 2002 and represents one of the most desirable versions of TUDOR’s fourth-generation automatic chronographs. Introduced as part of the 79000 series, the Ref. 79260 is commonly known among collectors as the “Small Block” chronograph and succeeded the iconic “Big Block” generation.
The 40 mm stainless-steel case features the characteristic sporty yet elegant proportions of the period, combined with a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. This particular example is presented in one of the most distinctive configurations of the series, featuring a black dial with white/silver-white sub-dials and a black bezel. The combination gives the watch a striking aesthetic reminiscent of the legendary vintage Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman” style, making this configuration especially appealing to collectors.
The watch remains unpolished and shows light to moderate signs of wear consistent with careful use. The unpolished condition preserves the original case geometry and character of the watch.
Inside, the watch is powered by an automatic chronograph movement based on the Valjoux 7750, providing the functions of hours, minutes, running seconds, date and chronograph. TUDOR refined and finished the movement specifically for this generation of automatic chronographs.
This example is fitted with its stainless-steel TUDOR Jubilee bracelet, further complementing the classic character of the watch. It is offered as a Full Set with box and papers, adding further appeal and completeness for collectors.
